It has been a long hard slog this year to get La Maison de Maitre, Loire Gite ready. Spring arrived and then packed her bags and left! She did decide to return for a few days but then left again. Our first visitors arrived a few days before  Spring left again. They did manage to swim on two days  of the  long week-end they were here. However the extended French family really did enjoy our newly decorated gite and heated pool.

The weather has been so mixed.  Looking at her itinerary I think Spring will return for our next guests this week-end. The pool is warm around 25° the grass is cut, again and the roses are coming into bloom.

I took this video a week ago. You can see a pile of earth just in front of the pool. This has been planted up with marrows, courgettes  peppers and those orange marrows I can never remember the name of. I got the idea from a restaurant we visited last year near St Nicholas de Bourguil. Yes that one where the delicious red wine is produced. The restaurant, Vincent , Cuisinier de campagne is well worth a visit. You must book though as he only seats 15-20 guests. All his food is sourced within 3 kms of the restaurant. Delicious! That’s another story and I’ll come back to that another day.

So just waiting for Spring to return with her large yellow orb. I will then be able to get my posh camera out and take some new photos og our lovely La Maison de Maitre.

Fortunatel for us but unfortunately for you July and August are fully booked. I do have some availability left in June and September. So if you fancy a french holiday in our lovely Loire Gite please get in touch.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jane
