Well another year has been and gone and we welcome 2019 with a little trepidation. None of us can foresee the future, we just need to embrace whatever is thrown at us.
I don’t believe in making resolutions. I do however believe in setting goals and challenges.
One of those goals is to get up earlier. I am a natural night owl, but I do enjoy early mornings when I have too. That is when we go competing before the break of day. My instruction from the yard manager, ‘Just fall out of bed and into the lorry by XX.X am. I usually manage to get up early enough to put on tail bandages and help load the team.
Another goal is to walk more. So, with that in mind the boys and I set off ‘round the block’ in the beautiful January sunshine.
Let’s go! “Come on!” says Jaeger Through the wood. The beautiful countryside surrounding La Maison de Maître, Loire Gîte.
The windy stretch! Left, right or straight on? Left and downhill. Where are we going? Nearly half way. Uphill home. Follow Jaeger.
We walked that horizon. My favourite trees Our wood. Nearly home along the White Lane. Home. La Maison de Maître, Loire Gîte
This walk is just under 3 kms. It takes about 35 mins on foot and 15 on horseback. It is a great circuit for an early morning jog or to walk the dog. There are other longer walks with not much roadwork and where you will not meet much if any traffic. Just one activity on our doorstep.
